Scott Uhler ( Partner / Developer )
Scott unknowingly began his turn to the dark side many years ago when he became seduced by the simplicity and power of code. This Siren’s call ultimately led him away from his career as a mild-mannered artist and game designer in the video game industry to the vast, open sea of the Web. Since those early days, Scott has worked at several digital agencies, such as hyperQuake, and Bridge Worldwide. Past clients include: Warner Bros. Pictures, Proctor & Gamble, ConAgra Foods, Reuters, GE, Kroger, Isaac Mizrahi, and Toyota.
Holding a degree in Fine Art, with a concentration in sculpture and electronic media, Scott is as concerned with aesthetics as he is with functionality. He specializes in game design/development, dynamic sites driven by external content and asynchronous Flash–server communication using a combination of Actionscript 3, PHP, and Javascript/HTML/CSS.How we work.
NewFinds works on a variety of levels for different client needs and client relationships. Allthough we work directly with many clients, we also fill in technology / development gaps in other groups / agencies. We build everything from widgets, to full blown custom cms systems. A major portion of our skill-set is focused on solving the problems of full flash websites. In specific the update-ability of them and their SEO compatibility such as deep-linking and their ability to be crawled.
NewFinds is always looking for ways to steamline development, programming with the future in mind. We use CakePHP in some situations and also our own extremly lightweight and fast PHP 5.0 framework for smaller tasks. All flash development we do is extensible, usually running from dynamic feeds.
